Chan fruit is among fascinated Khmer fruits. In Khmer we call it Plae Chan (ផ្លែចាន់), Plae means Fruit. It’s a kind of fruit tree having heavily fragrance both flowers and fruit. The fruit is round with yellow color, the fruit’s diameter is about 4-5cm. Chan fruit tree is a kind of very big and long life tree. Cambodia people like Chan fruit because of it fragrance, the fragrance of ripe fruit which is very different from the fragrance of flowers. But some people feel that the fragrance of Chan fruit is consisted of bitter taste(ធុំក្រពុល).
Keeping one fruit of Chan on your desk could scent the room for many days. The fragrance of Chan fruit causes us gaining energy. After a period of time working hard, putting Chan fruit close to your nose, smell it, then you can be released from tiredness.
Chan fruit is edible. When the fruit is really ripe, the the flesh inside is very soft and sweet. No seed inside. So after keep it for smelling a few days, we can eat it
